Where It All Began

Growing up in a large family, the kitchen was always the heart of our home. It was where everyone gathered, where stories were shared, and where celebrations naturally unfolded around a table filled with homemade cakes, desserts, and sweets.

Family recipes were lovingly passed down from one generation to the next, and the house was often filled with the comforting aromas of freshly baked cakes, caramelised sugar, cocoa, and condensed milk. Those moments created a deep connection to baking and to the joy that handmade desserts bring to people.

These memories and traditions became the inspiration behind Catarina Desserts — a place where family heritage, artisanal craft, and a love for sweets come together in every creation.

Easter has always been one of the sweetest and most meaningful seasons in our family.

Some of my most cherished childhood memories come from watching my parents spend days in the kitchen carefully crafting Easter eggs by hand. The house would fill with the aromas of chocolate and sweets as they prepared everything with patience and love.

The night before Easter Sunday was always filled with excitement and anticipation as we waited to discover what the Easter Bunny had created for us — which, of course, was always my parents.

Those moments of love, creativity, and sweetness left a lasting mark on me and became part of the inspiration behind Catarina Desserts. To honour those memories and the care they put into every handmade Easter surprise, Catarina’s now creates a special Easter collection each year, sharing that same joy and tradition with other families.
